Same-Game Parlay (SGP)
A same-game parlay combines multiple bets from a single game into one ticket — typically pairing the spread, total, and player props from the same matchup at correlated (and reduced) odds.
Example — NFL
Patriots ML + Over 44.5 + Mac Jones 200+ pass yds + Rhamondre Stevenson anytime TD
Four legs from the same Patriots game built into a single parlay at +700. A $20 wager returns $160 if all four legs hit.
How It Works at MA Sportsbooks
Same-game parlays are offered by every Massachusetts sportsbook. FanDuel pioneered SGP betting and remains the gold standard for variety and pricing. SGPs handle correlation by adjusting odds — for example, a quarterback throwing for 300+ yards and his team winning are correlated, so the SGP price is shorter than multiplying the two markets independently.
Pros
- Single-game narrative bets
- Higher payouts than straight bets
- Available on virtually every game
Cons
- Reduced odds vs. independent parlays (correlation adjustment)
- A single miss busts entire ticket
- House edge higher than singles
Pro Tips
- FanDuel and DraftKings have the deepest SGP markets
- Avoid heavily-correlated legs — operators already shorten the price
- Use SGP boosts (promotional tokens) to flip expected value positive
